Nicolock Pavers

Why the color holds

Nicolock pavers are made by a Lindenhurst company that has been building concrete paving stones for more than 50 years, now at plants on Long Island and in New Jersey, Maryland and Connecticut. Nicolock sends buyers to a local dealer for pricing and availability, and all three Powerhouse yards (Roslyn Heights, Amityville and Huntington Station) are on its dealer list.

Its Paver-Shield process gives each paver an ultra-dense surface packed with more color, so the heavy aggregate underneath does not show as the paver wears. The iron oxide color runs top to bottom, and Nicolock guarantees it will not fade.

A backyard pool with a kidney-shaped design is surrounded by stone tiles. Lounge chairs are on the pool deck, and there's a fenced area with grass and trees. A small house and a body of water are visible in the background under a clear sky.

Nicolock paver collections and finishes

Riven, smooth, dimpled or clay

Start with the look, then check the vehicle rating before you fall for a stone. Nicolock’s standard paver is 2 3/8 inches thick.

  • Stone Ridge: Stone Ridge mixes 4 1/2×9, 9×9 and 9×13 1/2 pieces in 19 colors and is rated for foot and vehicle traffic. Stone Ridge XL is for patios and walks only, and Stone Ridge Contemporary gives the layout a smooth face.
  • Alpine Ridge: Alpine Ridge brings stones up to 15 5/8 x 23 1/2 inches with a natural cleft face, and Alpine Contemporary is the smooth version. Both are made for patios and walks.
  • Old Vienna and Rustico: Old Vienna is a slim 2 3/8 x 7 1/2 brick with an antique clay look, safe for vehicles. Rustico has a slightly dimpled top with chamfered edges, and the Rustico circle kit lays out a 10 foot 4 inch circle.
  • Holland Stone and brick styles: Holland Stone is the flat 4×8 classic in 14 colors. Ridge Brick adds a riven 4 1/2×9 face, and Cobblestone, a special order, is Nicolock’s pick for driveways.

Nicolock pavers for driveways and patios

Which pieces can take a car

Nicolock says a standard 2 3/8 inch paver handles cars and pickups when it is laid in a herringbone pattern over 8 to 12 inches of base.

  • Rated for vehicles: Stone Ridge and Old Vienna, with Cobblestone suggested for driveways. Blue Ridge Contemporary also comes in a 3 1/8 inch (80mm) version made for vehicles.
  • Patios and walks only: Stone Ridge XL, Alpine Ridge, Alpine Contemporary and Blue Ridge. Heritage Slab takes light-duty vehicle traffic and is built for walkways, rooftops and overlays.

Protect the warranty. Nicolock’s limited lifetime warranty covers structural integrity for residential use, for as long as you own the home, and it transfers to the next owner. Register it online with a proof of purchase upload, so keep the receipt from the yard. In winter, Nicolock recommends rock salt and says magnesium chloride or other chloride products will void the warranty.

Our free paver calculator includes Stone Ridge 3-piece, Stone Ridge Contemporary and Alpine Ridge inlays, plus 6×9, 4 1/2×9 and 4×8 borders and base sand with a waste allowance.

A modern driveway featuring light gray interlocking paving stones with a contrasting border leads to a two-car garage. The surrounding area has well-maintained shrubs and grass, contributing to a neat, landscaped appearance.

Nicolock Pavers FAQs

Common Nicolock paver questions

Yes. Nicolock says its pavers exceed ICPI and ASTM standards, Paver-Shield keeps the heavy aggregate from showing as the surface wears, and the iron oxide color is guaranteed not to fade. They are made in U.S. plants, one of them on Long Island.
As long as you own the home, as far as Nicolock’s warranty goes: it covers structural integrity for residential use and transfers to the next owner. What shortens a paver’s life is usually under it or on it, a thin base or the wrong de-icer. Nicolock calls for 8 to 12 inches of base under a driveway and recommends rock salt in winter.
Nicolock recommends it. Its 2026 sealing guide calls sealing after installation highly recommended, because a sealer helps resist stains, water and fading and can enhance the color. Wait six to twelve months, clean off dirt and efflorescence first, never use muriatic acid, and reseal every three to five years.
Yes. Nicolock lets you order up to three free color samples through its website, and our staff at any yard can walk you through the collections.
Nicolock tells buyers to confirm pricing with a local dealer. The collection, color and order size all change the number, so call any of our yards with your square footage for a quote.
Neither wins every job. We are a dealer for both, and the choice usually comes down to finish and color. Our Cambridge vs Nicolock guide for Long Island patios lays them side by side, or see Cambridge pavers.
